Questions you may have.

What is HuddeWorld?

  • HuddleWorld is a place to "huddle" with people you like and trust on this big, fast changing globe.
  • To support that idea, here it's a magazine with updates. Sometimes weekly like the opinion and story blogs. Sometimes monthly or even bi-monthly like with a company analysis. Sometimes every few hours like with news and sometimes even hourly like with stock tickers.

What does a coloured bullet mean in front of the name on the Stocks page?

  • If there is a bullet at all, it means that there is a Analysis Report for that company. A green bullet means less than 3 weeks old, a yellow less than 6 weeks and a red over 6 weeks. Click on the name.

What is a Regional or Sector Review?

  • Since we evaluate companies based on their performance and global context, we also can use those analysis to compare them and get a view of positives and negatives within that set. So take care, we only use data and analysis of companies we follow. Others are just left out. So the top and bottom lists are therefor only taken from the sets and per region o rpe sector/industry. Note also that a company analysis used for the review can be a few weeks old. That's why we create reviews every few weeks. Time changes outcomes.

Why does website have an outage or response problems sometimes?

Why does the layout change so much?

  • Well, first of all the site is in bèta which means it is still under development. We fix bugs and add features to create the best user experience. Having said that, we will most likely never stop updating the site. Removing or changing features which we don't like after all and adding others.

Why don't you report the very latest news?

  • We do report it (see headlines) but not aiming to have that "scoop" and write about it ourselves because ...
  • We're a magazine and not a newspaper.
  • Furthermore, our mission is more to write about (preferably positive) effects of exciting news. Not just covering wars or political events. There is enough of that already.

Are the stock tickers reflecting the actual price?

  • Yes and no. There is a delay of about 30 minutes. If you are a trader and dependent on the very latest price within minutes or even seconds, you should rely on a fast connection to a bank or stock broker. Huddleworld is a magazine for insights, not for trading.

What is the value of a company, sector or region analysis?

  • Nothing more or less than an opinion based on recent figures and headlines of about the last six months. You should always examine all available data yourself before making any trading decision.

Are all facts true?

  • Yes and no. We've done our best to base our stories on references found on the web. We select our sources quite thoroughly but can not guarantee that they are always correct. In  most cases we cite the references in the articles so you can check the sources yourself. And do not forget:

Stories remain when facts are forgotten 😅.

Why are the titles in English when the text is in Dutch or Spanish?

  • That is because most of the articles are written in English and later automatically translated. For now, the English title remains. It's on our wish list to translate them too.

Are all articles translated?

  • Most of them are but there might be some left from the earlier days which are not translated. Usually with a browser like Google Chrome you could translate a whole page. Note that even if there are translations, the English version is always the most recent one. So to be sure, like for this FAQ, always check the English one.

Are there any more languages for the articles than English, Dutch and Spanish?

  • Not yet, it's on our wish list too. It will be a gradual transition where some articles in the near future will have translations in like Brazilian Portugese, French or Chinese and others are not. For instance, if they have a reference to a news headline coming from another language origin. You will be able to see that when a flag appears above the article. A general "Preferred language" is another step. That will take longer. However, now Ai's get more integrated into web-browsers as well, the need for specific translations decreases. Modern web-browser like Safari ot Chrome can translate web-pages to almost any language. Try it.
